Editing an alumni group's website (1999- ).
Role
Planning content, editing stories, reporting.
The big picture
This was the first site I developed. Its objective was to harness and display the power of internet to strengthen bonds among old students. Inspired other alumni groups in school to set up websites.
The small steps
- Text-heavy: This was to ensure fast downloads, as it was the early days of Internet in India. Initially, the text was not Web-friendly. Over the years, as I picked up Web-writing skills, the site became more reader-friendly.
- 'Nostalgia' theme: Worked on the belief that a good alumni site should evoke nostalgia. Content was planned accordingly.
